Pomegranate Spoon Sweet

A delightful winter dessert that can be enjoyed on its own or as a topping for desserts, tarts, yogurt, ice cream, and many other preparations. The amount of sugar may vary depending on the sweetness of our pomegranates. This sweet treat is incredibly easy to make and loved by everyone!

Ingredients:

1 kilogram cleaned pomegranate seeds

600g sugar

600g water

1 cinnamon stick

3 star anise

A splash of lemon juice

Directions

Put on disposable gloves and an apron, and in a plastic basin, take the pomegranate halves and tap them from the top with a wooden spoon to release the seeds. Thoroughly clean the seeds, removing the white fibers, and strain them.

In a saucepan, combine the pomegranate seeds, sugar, cinnamon stick, star anise, and simmer for ten minutes on low heat. It doesn't take long for the seeds to soften. Cover the saucepan and let it sit in the refrigerator for a day to allow the pomegranates to release their moisture. The next day, simmer the sweet for another ten minutes with a splash of lemon juice until the syrup thickens.

Transfer the sweet into sterilized jars and store in the refrigerator once opened.
